Martyr, John Brown

John Brown was a martyr, not a murderer, in my opinion. He may have had a little overreaction, but his intentions were good. For example, he did rob Harper Ferry, but to abolish slavery. His plan failed, with no slaves joining him. In the text (discovery ed.) it says, “I John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood.” He was willing to risk his life for his cause. That’s why I think he is a martyr, not murderer. ⚔🇺🇸

  1. I agree that he risked his life for a good cause. Even though he didn't accomplish this goal to end slavery he died for his opinion.
