I think that John Brown is a martyr because he killed tons of people and got executed because of his beliefs that slavery was wrong. In October 1859 he and his 5 sons wanted to arm several slaves. It didn’t turn out well because all of his sons died and none of the slaves joined the raid. John was charged as a criminal and was executed in December 1859. A martyr is somebody who sometimes killed and got killed for his/hers beliefs. John Brown was a martyr and was killed for being against slavery.
I like how you used evidence to prove your opinion. I agree that he is a martyr because he fought to end slavery.
